What To Expect
Once you have booked an appointment with ourselves you will receive a confirmation of booking. After this has happened one of our experienced clinicians will attend the address you have given at your allocated time and date.
First the healthcare professional will begin by evaluating your ears to determine the extent of the earwax build-up. They will use an otoscope, a handheld device with a light, to examine the inside of your ear canal. Then the professional will discuss your symptoms, medical history, and any previous experiences with earwax removal. This conversation helps them understand your specific needs and concerns.
Based on the evaluation and discussion, the professional will present you with suitable treatment options. They will explain the recommended method of earwax removal and address any questions or concerns you may have. The methods offered are:
Micro suction technology, a gentle and non-invasive method considered one of the most effective ways to remove earwax.
Ear Irrigation: This method involves flushing warm water or a saline solution into the ear canal to dislodge and remove the earwax.
Earwax Softening: In some cases, earwax removal drops or oil may be administered prior to the procedure to soften the wax and make it easier to remove.
During the procedure, you may experience sensations like warmth, pressure, or mild discomfort. However, the professional will aim to ensure your comfort and minimise any potential discomfort. The procedure itself shouldn't take too long but will vary based on how much wax you have and whether your getting 1 or 2 ears done. After the procedure has been completed your ears will be checked again and the clinician will advise you if you need to do anything further or not.
After the earwax removal, the healthcare professional may provide instructions on post-procedural care, such as avoiding excessive water exposure or using ear drops to maintain ear health.
It's worth noting that the exact process may vary based your individual needs and the severity of the earwax build-up.
